A Greeting from the Professor

Welcome to the Department of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Laboratory Medicine at Akita University Graduate School of Medicine!
The mission of our department is to contribute to the improvement of diagnosis in medicine for better outcomes through better diagnosis. We pride ourselves on diversity of individual clinical expertise and academic interest, teamwork and transparency.
We are involved in medical care and education by having clinical expertise in internal medicine at Akita University hospital, including primary care medicine and inpatient consultation (Division of General Medicine), clinical laboratory medicine (Central Laboratory Division) and hospital infection control (Division of Infection Control and Prevention). We have strong research expertise in allergy and immunology. Specific areas of academic interest include allergic/eosinophiic diseases, hematological diseases, infectious diseases and autoimmune liver disease.
